When you get in touch, including a few details up front usually means we can fix things in a single reply:

  • The email address on your Goumi account (or that you use with Sign in with Apple)
  • Your device and iOS version (for example, iPhone 15, iOS 18)
  • What you were doing when the issue happened, and what you expected instead
  • Screenshots or screen recordings if it's a visual issue

Common questions

How do I sign in? I don't have a password.
That's by design — Goumi has no passwords. Sign in with Apple, or enter your email address and we'll send you a 6-digit one-time code to type in. Use the same method each time so you land in the same account.
How does the AI recipe chat work?
Tell Goumi what you feel like eating, what's in your fridge, or how much time you have — you can also attach photos of your fridge, pantry, ingredients, or a recipe page from a book. Goumi proposes a recipe tailored to your preferences, equipment, and household; when you're happy with it, save it and it joins your recipe collection, ready to cook or add to a meal plan.
How does voice mode work?
Grant microphone permission when Goumi asks (or later in iOS Settings → Goumi), then start a cooking session and just talk. Your audio is processed live to power the conversation — ask to repeat a step, convert a quantity, or adjust timing, all hands-free. Voice keeps working with the screen locked, so you can cook without touching your phone.
How does meal planning work?
Ask Goumi to plan your week and it generates a plan you can tweak, or add individual recipes to specific days and meals yourself. Your plan shows up in the Goumi widget and on your Apple Watch, so tonight's dinner is always a glance away.
Do timers keep running if I leave the app?
Yes. Timers run in the background and alert you with a local notification, and you can watch the countdown in the Lock Screen Live Activity without opening the app. Timers don't need an internet connection, and they survive an app relaunch.
What does the pantry do?
The pantry keeps track of what you have at home — items, quantities, expiry dates, and notes. Goumi uses it to suggest recipes that work with what's already in your kitchen and to help you use things up before they expire.
How do I manage or cancel my Goumi Pro subscription?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they're managed in your Apple ID: open the App Store, tap your profile picture, then Subscriptions (or Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Free trials convert to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com — but feel free to email us first and we'll point you the right way.
I resubscribed / got a new phone — how do I restore my purchase?
Goumi re-checks your entitlements automatically when it launches. Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you purchased with, then open the app — your Goumi Pro access should come back on its own. If it doesn't, email hello@goumi.ai.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Profile → Delete account, then confirm. This permanently removes your recipes, meal plans, chats, pantry, and family member data — it can't be undone. If you'd rather we handle it, email hello@goumi.ai from the address on your account.

Troubleshooting

  • Voice isn't connecting or responding — check that Goumi has microphone permission (iOS Settings → Goumi → Microphone) and that you have an internet connection; voice sessions are live, so they need one. Then try ending and restarting the session.
  • Timers aren't alerting — check that notifications are allowed for Goumi (iOS Settings → Notifications → Goumi) and that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't silencing them.
